1. What is Frenclub sms?

Frenclub sms is a mobile chat service using sms. You can join the mobile chat service by sending GO to 32919 (w.e.f 04.06.2007: Maxis subscribers can send GO to either 22919 or 32919 to activate your membership), and follow few simple sms instructions to complete your user profiling, which includes selecting your preferred language, gender, age group and nickname setting at last. Once you have finished your user profiling, you can start searching and chatting with new friends in private, join a chatroom to chat with multiple parties, etc. just using your mobile phone, no computer is required.

2. Who can use this service?

Anyone who has a mobile phone with capability to send and receive normal text messages via Maxis, Celcom and Digi network.

3. What is minimum age to join this service?

Minimum age is 18 and above, minor aged under 18 will need parental approval prior using Frenclub chat service.

 

4. Is it safe to use Frenclub?

Find friends safely through mobile phone and chat all you want anonymously, without having to show your personal details.

5. Can I make/receive calls while using Frenclub sms?

Yes! Frenclub sms just work as normal text message, any message(s) received by a Frenclub user will be stored in the mobile phone message inbox. Therefore it does not block customers from making/receiving calls at the same time.

6. What happen if I turn off my phone?

You will remain online, messages received will be stored by your Mobile Operator and forwarded to you when you turn on your phone.

7. How much will I be charged?

Please refer to Pricing (www.frenclub.com/pricingmal.html) for exact charges per operator.  In general, you will only need to pay RM0.15 for every sms.

8. Will I be charged for every sms received from Frenclub?

i.         In general, you will NOT be charged for sms received if it falls under any of categories below:

a)      Chat sms from other Frenclub user(s)

b)      System notification (E.g.: Online notification of your buddy, idle notification)

c)       System introduction (E.g.: New friend(s) introduced by system)

d)      System cover message (E.g.: Any message that begins with [RM0.00])

ii.       However, you will be charged for sms received as listed below:

a)     Chatroom message (E.g.: Chat sms received in any chatroom will be charged)

b)     Infotainment message (E.g.: Horoscope, Jokes, Beauty Tips, etc.)

9. How long can my Frenclub messages be?

Messages can be up to 136 roman characters, or 50 for Chinese characters per message. Anything more than the allowed characters limit will be cut and sent as second sms to an intended recipient.

10. How can I find new friends?

There are several ways to look for new friends as follow:

i. MENU driven:

a)   “Seek New Friends” to allow users to search for new friends according to user’s preferred criteria.

Frenclub Menu > Seek New Friends > Male/Female/Same Location/Same Age Group etc

b)   “Instant Match” to allow the system to randomly match you with new friends upon request.

Frenclub Menu > Seek New Friends > Instant Match > Compose personal message > System to randomly send to 3 available online users  

ii. COMMAND driven:

a)   Send FIND M or FIND L to 32919 to find male friends; send FIND F or FIND P to 32919 to find female friends – system will send ONE matched friends if command FIND is used as search engine.

b)   Send TALK to 32919 to find friends according to your search criteria as set during profiling stage – system will send ONE matched friend if command TALK is used as search engine.

11. What is ‘Buddy List’?

It is a list of your good friend(s) (if you have added any). You will receive FREE online notification via sms when any of your buddies go online at anytime as long as your status is set online. The easiest way to add friend(s) to your Buddy List is to send ADD <friend’s nickname> to 32919. To view Buddy List at anytime, just send LIST to 32919 to view your up to date list of buddies. Their online status will be indicated as follow upon LIST is sent to 32919:

12. What is ‘Blacklist’?

It is a list of blocked friend(s) (if you have blocked any). Likewise to adding your best friends to your Buddy List, you can do the same to block annoying friends into your Blacklist so as to avoid unnecessary disruptions from them with immediate effect. To block a friend, send BLOCK <friend’s nickname> to 32919. Please take note that you will be unable to chat with any of your blocked friend(s) or vice versa unless they are unblocked. IF you change your mind, just simply unblock any of your blacklisted friends by sending UNBLOCK <friend’s nickname> to 32919 at anytime.

13. What will happen if I go online and I do nothing?

Nothing will happen, you will stay online and you can just continue chatting whenever you want.

14. Do I have to sign-in each time I want to use Frenclub sms?

No. Once you have completed your user profiling, you can send or receive messages anytime. You can choose to sign-off temporarily from Frenclub by sending Q to 32919.  You can send any message to 32919 to go online again.

15. What should I do if I need help on using Frenclub sms?

a)      Send HELP to 32919 to quick access to read help options through sms

b)      Contact Frenclub customer service hotline +603 8945 2388, 9am-5.30pm, Monday-Friday.

c)       Submit sms feedback through Frenclub MENU > HELP > FEEDBACK > Compose your feedback. System will respond as soon as possible.

16. How to terminate the service?

Send STOP FSMS to 32919 (or 22919 for Maxis user) to stop Frenclub sms service.  Send STOP ALL to 32919 (or 22919 for Maxis user) to cancel all Frenclub services.
